Coach Kevin Johnson invested his life into preparing kids of all ages for their future. At the young age of 46 Coach Johnson went to be with Jesus after a long two year battle with cancer. He leaves behind an amazing legacy of faith, love, and gentle spirit.  Standing 6’7’’, Coach Johnson was often referred to as ‘the gentle giant’ or ‘a big teddy bear’. He was a beautiful person inside and out, so kind to every person he met. Kevin Johnson was admired, loved and respected community wide.

To honor Coach Kevin Johnson, family and friends have established the Coach Kevin Johnson Memorial Scholarship to be awarded to a graduating senior student athlete of both Springdale High and Har-Ber High School. Scholarship is to be applied to their continued higher education. Each student awarded, one from Har-Ber High and one from Springdale High, will have been involved in the community and will have mirrored the character of the inspirational Coach Kevin Johnson.  The Coach Kevin Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund is a fund of the Springdale Public School Education Foundation.
